Pretty in Purple at George V
I have never stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel George V, but I have spent quality time in the 5-Star hotel's lobby. If you appreciate floral design, then you should too. Creative Director Jeff Leatham is so incredibly talented and imaginative. I guess I am his biggest fan! The floral displays wow guests the minute they step inside the lobby. The summer bouquets are in the most beautiful shades of purple. While you are there, don't forget to take a peak inside the hotel's courtyard for the spectacular centerpiece. Bravo, George V. The hotel is located at 31, Avenue George V in the 8eme. Metro: George V.

On Sunday afternoon, the Tour de France came to an end at the Champs-Élysées. I was lucky enough to be invited to a party where there was an excellent view of the festive event. My friend Heidi really knows how to entertain and she was so sweet to share her amazing view of Paris. Merci, Heidi!

Merci, 111 boulevard Beaumarchais, 75003
I finally made it to Merci--an eclectic concept store in the 3eme.

Merci features a wonderful inventory of modern bedding, furniture, and home accessories. There is also a whole floor devoted to clothing for men and women.

I especially loved their selection of plush towels and pillows in neutral shades of white, gray, brown, and green. The store has a section entirely devoted to journals, paper, and writing utensils.

You can spend a whole afternoon at Merci. Well, it seems as if many people do. The shop makes it easy with the hip cafe on the ground floor and breezy space that encourages customers to linger with friends.

Merci is located at 111 blvd. Beaumarchais. Metro: Line 8, Saint Sébastien-Froissart. Closed on Sundays.

Just a Note: The store and price point reminds me of Anthropologie--one of my favorite brands.

Merci's cafe is the ideal spot for lunch and coffee. The cafe has a nice light selection of salads and cheese plates.

Live Concert at the Eiffel Tower
Bastille Day happens to be one of the most fun holidays in Paris. I decided to join the crowd at the Eiffel Tower. The live concert was followed by the most sensational sunset that I have ever seen. The night ended with stunning fireworks accompanied by classic show tunes. I found that it was an interesting choice to play Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York" during the grand finale, but since I'm from the City I was fine with it. I felt so lucky to be among the million people who came to celebrate this festive day.
